I read a quote that states, “Creative people are curious, flexible, persistent, & independent with a tremendous spirit of adventure & a love of play” (Henri Matisse). Then I read another quote that states, “Creative people are more prone to depression” (Adam Ant). Do you think that’s true? Without researching the 2nd quote, I can see the possibility in that; I wouldn’t say that all #creative people are prone to depression, but some could be. Perhaps some creative souls are depressed because few people understand them. Maybe they are constantly judged (emphasis on the word MAYBE). To avoid being judged, they possibly keep to themselves, which in turn can lead to depression. Sometimes it takes a great deal of courage to be creative. We’re so concerned about what others think about us or how they perceive us, not realizing that when we take the courageous step to LIVE OUT LOUD we awaken something in others.
