“…fear is 100% dependent on you for its survival.” ~ @stevemaraboli. I’m deathly afraid of heights & I probably will be afraid of heights for the rest of my life. There are just some things that we cannot change regardless of how hard we try. However, there are other kinds of fears that we give birth to & hold on to forever. For instance, many are afraid of being their true selves. Let me just clarify that there is a difference between privacy & being true to yourself. Everyone has a right to their privacy. Being true to yourself does not mean that you have to tell everyone all of your business. It simply means that you are not suppressing who you are as a person for the sake of making others happy. Being true to yourself is also knowing when to put your foot down. I recently had an acquaintance give me an attitude because she felt that I was being too private about what I do in my spare time. Let me say this: I don’t owe anyone an explanation about what I do in my spare time or how I am doing it, with the exceptions of God, my husband, & children. With that said, privacy & all, I try to be myself as much as I can & I believe that it reflects in my photos & posts. Those who truly love me will appreciate this level of transparency whereas those who do not care for me will find it quite annoying. That is really not my concern. I refuse to worry about what others think of me. I will not feed that fear. I choose to let it STARVE.
