Protective Hairstyles mean different things to different people. For some, protective hairstyles refer to hairstyles where the ends of the hair (the oldest hair) is tucked away. For others, a protective hairstyle is a hairstyle that prevents the hair from being loose (i.e. braids, twists, updos, & wigs). Overall, the point of a protective hairstyle is keep the hair from being "out there" and to protect it from the elements and any type of manipulation. Regardless of how you define the term, you cannot deny that this little lady featured here is rocking some serious protective styles. This young lady is Reylin. She is my cousin Juan and his wife Reyel's daughter. Reyel shares such cute pictures of Reylin rocking some fabulous hairstyles. I felt that it was absolutely fitting to share a little about Reylin and her gorgeous hair with the rest of you. Natural Hair is more than curls, coils, kinks, and afros. Protective Hairstyles are an extremely important part of natural hair care. Sharing how this young lady rocks her hair regularly was of great importance to me.
